A Legacy of Compassion and Care
Kahrizak Charity Foundation began its mission as an NGO (non-governmental organization) in the 1970s in Tehran, founded on the vision of caring for society’s most vulnerable — especially the elderly and people with disabilities.
Kahrizak Alborz was established in 2001, thanks to the support of philanthropists and volunteers. This branch was built as a modern, multidisciplinary centre, spanning 80,000 square meters. Officially opening its doors in 2009, it offers a new standard of long-term and rehabilitative care in the region. Today it serves over 3,000 individuals through residential, outpatient, and home care services.
Kahrizak London: A Circle of Dedication and Impact
Kahrizak London was formally registered as an NGO in 1990 by a dedicated group of Iranian women – many of whom have been residents of the United Kingdom for over four decades. As homemakers and community volunteers, they united around a single purpose: to support the mission of Kahrizak Charity Foundation in Iran through consistent fundraising and community engagement.
This London-based chapter is entirely non-governmental, non-religious, and non-profit. It operates through warm and informal gatherings, organizing monthly luncheons and an eagerly awaited annual Norouz Bazaar to mark the Persian New Year. The bazaar, sponsored by the committee members, features sweets, home made preserves, Norouz items, home wares, and a vibrant buffet – all prepared and donated by volunteers.

Contributions to Medical Infrastructure
Over the decades, Kahrizak London has made a significant and lasting impact on the healthcare infrastructure of Kahrizak’s centres in Iran. Through their tireless efforts, they have funded and equipped the Kahrizak Clinic and Radiology Department, delivering vital medical technologies that directly improve diagnostic and therapeutic care. Major contributions include the following medical equipment:
• Hormone Auto Analyser
• Sonography Machine
• Bone Density Machine
• Radiography Machine
• Mammogram Machine
• Electroshock Machine
Recent Projects
• In 2022, Kahrizak London supported the establishment of a fully equipped Dentistry Unit.
• In 2023, the organization helped build a new Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Unit, expanding the centre’s rehabilitative capacity.
This vibrant community of women continues to be a powerful force of generosity and transnational solidarity. Their work stands as a testament to the idea that dedicated individuals, even from afar, can make a tangible and lasting difference in the lives of thousands.

It is driven by the belief that no one—regardless of age, ability, or circumstance—should be left without care or companionship.
